The Bayside eateries fined for breaching food safety standards
Cafes, bubble tea stores, food festivals and butchers are among the eateries in Bayside fined for breaching food safety standards. See if your local has been listed.

The NSW Food Authority has named and shamed the eateries in Bayside and surrounding areas that have breached or are alleged to have breached NSW food safety laws.
A total of eighteen fines were issued to ten businesses in the past year. Over half of those businesses were fined for two or more breaches, receiving penalties of up to $880 per offence.
Machi Machi in Mascot, Nostimo Malabar, BBQ Master in Maroubra and Moti Mahal Indian Restaurant in Ramsgate were all listed as repeat offenders, failing to improve their food safety standards.
Notable breaches of food safety standards include a lack of cleanliness, insufficient measures to mitigate pests in food areas and inadequate storage of potentially hazardous foods at required temperatures.
Below is a list of businesses in Bayside and surrounding regions that appear on the NSW Food Authority register of penalty notices over the last 12 months.
Bayside LGA
Machi Machi - Mascot
Offence: Fail to notify the appropriate enforcement agency of the food business - previous warning given
The ‘fail to notify’ offence is issued when a business opens or changes ownership but fails to notify the appropriate enforcement agency such as the local council or NSW Government Food Authority. It’s more of a technical breach than a specific hygiene incident.
Offence: Fail to ensure that at least one food safety supervisor has been appointed for the premises - previous warning given
All commercial eateries must have a food safety supervisor (FSS) appointed anytime food is handled and sold. A FFS is someone who has undergone specific food handling training to recognise and mitigate food-related risks. Again, this is more of a technical breach than related to a specific hygiene incident.
