Prince of Wales Hospital Emergency Department relocated
From 7:30am May 3rd, the hospital’s emergency department will be accessible from Magill Street via Botany Street.
The emergency drop-off location at Prince of Wales Hospital will change, effective from 7:30am Wednesday, May 3rd.
The Randwick hospital's Emergency Department (ED) will now be accessible from Magill Street via Botany Street, replacing its prior location on Nurses Drive.
The best parking location is still in the hospital's car park, accessible via Barker St. From the car park, the fastest way to the ED is via a pedestrian bridge on Level 0 to the new Acute Services Building, where the ED is now located.
If you are travelling by light rail, get off at the UNSW stop and walk down Botany St to the Acute Services Building.
The change also applies to the Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), which has relocated to the same spot as the ED.

Other hospital services have already relocated to the new building, including respiratory and infectious diseases, haematology, oncology and orthopaedics, while a move date for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is to be confirmed.
The $782.8 million 13-storey building that opened in February is the first stage of a considerable expansion of adult services at the hospital.
“The new hospital building features state-of-the-art medical equipment and has been designed with input from hospital staff and consumers to ensure it meets the health needs of the growing community, now and into the future,” said the NSW government in a statement.

The building's completion marks the first significant upgrade to the hospital in 25 years.
